King Robinson Interdistrict Magnet: An IB STEM School

Where students strive to be respectful, open-minded, and reflective students with positive attitudes. We are King/Robinson, where we equip students to be global citizens!
King/Robinson is the only International Baccalaureate school here in New Haven. We offer Primary Year and Middle Year programs to all of our students. We are also the only K-8 school to offer French to our students starting in PreK. Once students enter Grade 1, they have the opportunity to enroll in our partial French Immersion program. We see students as global citizens and embrace each student’s perspective, cultural background, and learning style and use this as the foundation when developing our units of inquiry. We offer transdisciplinary learning, meaning that our units and lessons span across disciplines through concepts. Students are taught skills that are transferable across subject areas and disciplines such as communication and thinking skills. These skills are what will help students thrive in any and all settings beyond the classroom. In addition, all students are enrolled in STEM classes starting in Kindergarten.

How to know our school is right for your child:

  • Your child loves to discover, explore nature, and engage in learning that feels like play.
  • Your child is creative and enjoys hands-on inquiry-based projects.
  • Your child loves to demonstrate his/her learning through the use of technology and communicating in different languages.
