New Haven Public Schools is committed to helping all kids rise and achieve success in school and life. For students with disabilities, we offer personalized services that are designed to meet the specific needs of your child.

Services may include specialized instruction, social work counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, psychological services, and assistive technology.

We have staff available in the district’s Student Services Department who can answer your questions about Special Education and walk you through the process. For each student who is eligible for Special Education services, we set up a Planning and Placement Team to set goals and objectives that become part of the students Individualized Education Plan.
