Barnard Environmental Studies Interdistrict Magnet

We are Barnard, a premier environmental science and technology school.
We are a dynamic and diverse learning community, where students are inspired and prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century through a robust academic program. We have one of the largest school-based gardens in the district, as well as an established school-yard habitat, both of which provide opportunities for hands-on, authentic learning experiences. Our aquaponic and hydroponic systems seamlessly connect student learning to our environmental and technology themes. Students regularly engage in the engineering process in their core and specials classes. Through these multiple opportunities of collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking, Barnard ensures all students are prepared to be college and career ready.
