Register Your Child & Apply!

New Haven Residents: your child must be 5-years-old on or before January 1, 2020 to apply.

Here's how to do it:

1. Come to an Expo!

2. Register Your Child starting February 25

3. Apply Online by March 17

Please join us at a School Expo! This is your opportunity to learn more about our schools. All schools will have booths staffed by administrators, teachers, parents and students at each of our Expos. We hope to see you there!

Then complete your registration by
bringing the following documents after February 25th to the Office of Choice & Enrollment at 54 Meadow Street, 1st floor, New Haven CT:

1. Birth Certificate
2. Proof of Residency (current utility bill, lease/mortgage statement with parent/guardian’s name & address)
3. Parent/Guardian Identification

Do not bring documents to the Office of Choice & Enrollment before February 25th. They will not be accepted until that date.

Or submit a paper application to the Office of Choice & Enrollment. Families are strongly encouraged to apply by March 17, 2019.

The School Choice Process supports the NHPS’ School Choice program. Through an application process families have the
opportunity to select from neighborhood, magnet and charter school options that best fit their interests and educational needs!

REGISTRESE EN LÍNEA

Luego completa tu registro trayendo los siguientes documentos después del 25 de febrero a la Oficina de la Selección y Matricula el 54 Meadow Street, 1er piso, New Haven, CT:

1. Certificado de nacimiento

Complete la Solicitud de Selección de Escuelas

O lleve una solicitud a la Oficina de Selección y Matricula localizada en el 54 de la calle Meadow en New Haven. La fecha límite para entregar la solicitud será el 17 de marzo.

El Proceso de Selección de Escuelas apoya el Programa de Selección de Escuelas de NHPS. A través de un proceso de solicitud las familias pueden elegir escuelas en su vecindario, escuelas magnet o escuelas charter, eligiendo opciones que mejor se adapten a sus intereses y necesidades educativas.

Our Mission

In addition to providing effective and innovative educational practices, New Haven Schools of Choice are designed to foster student enrollment patterns that reflect racial, ethnic and economic diversity.

Families must apply to our schools.  Students are placed in schools through a lottery.

 

Who Can Apply

New Haven residents can apply to any magnet or charter school in the city. Our Interdistrict Magnet Schools are open to all Connecticut residents. There are no admission requirements, tests or prerequisites for our students. We serve special education students, English Language learners, talented and gifted students and everyone else who comes through the lottery to our schools. No student may be denied enrollment because of race, ethnicity or disability.
