Riverside Education Academy believes that every child can be successful. It offers students highly individualized programs of instruction designed to support them at their appropriate academic and social levels. Students are interviewed before being admitted to the school and must sign a contract agreeing to meet the school’s standards of behavior. The interview enables staff to develop an educational experience tailor-made for that child. Students also work with staff to develop goals for post graduation. Ninety percent of Riverside’s graduates go on to college or trade schools. Riverside understands the complexities of many students’ home and work lives. It supports students’ schedules with flexible school hours that allow them to assist at home or earn income. The school’s corridors are decorated with vibrant murals and artwork created by the students. Its small size and structured environment create a safe, family-like atmosphere for students and staff.

“As a graduating senior at Riverside, I can honestly say that spending my high school years here has changed my life and view on education. I credit Ms. Gibbs, our principal, my teachers, CHAMPS, CSST Support Team and Riverside’s small environment for the success I’ve achieved. The teachers really get to know you, your interests and the way you learn. Since my freshman year, I have been on the honor roll, which is something I’ve never achieved before. I’m currently working on my CNA license which will help me work towards my goal of being a registered nurse. Thank you, Riverside.” -Dashauna, 12th grade
“Well, here I am a graduating senior the school where I met the wonderful Ms. Gibbs! Now I am preparing to leave, but before I go I want to thank Ms. Gibbs for helping me so much. I came to Riverside as a follower and am now leaving as a leader! For any student who is considering Riverside as a high school choice, I want you to know that it’s an opportunity of a lifetime. I would recommend it to anyone. It changed my life and I know it can do the same for you.” -Quiana, Grade 12
