Metropolitan is committed to ensuring all students realize their full educational potential by providing supportive, innovative, and rigorous instruction in a safe school environment. MBA is a full college preparatory program that offers students four academic paths of study. These pathways are supported by the Center for 21st Century Skills and the National Academy Foundation.

Metropolitan Academic Pathways

1) The Academy of Allied Health and Science prepares students to pursue further education toward a career in the medical sciences through rigorous specialized curriculum and community-based partnerships.

2) The Academy of Digital Arts and Technology provides students with opportunities to explore science through technology with a focus on innovation using animation, web design, moviemaking, and e-commerce.

3) The Academy of Finance connects students with the world of financial services, offering a curriculum that covers banking and credit, financial planning, international finance, securities, insurance, accounting, and economics.

4) The Academy of Law and Political Science prepares students to pursue further education toward a career in law, political activism, journalism, criminal justice, community action, and public service. Students who choose an academy and complete its prescribed curriculum will graduate with a certificate in that specialized academic concentration in addition to a high school diploma. Metropolitan is committed to offering students opportunities to apply its core values of innovation, integrity, and involvement through project based learning using state of the art technology, school leadership positions, internships, and community service.

What our students are saying...

“I am the CEO of Metropolitan’s student-run coffee franchise called Café Camaroon. We are currently working on marketing fair trade coffee from Rwanda to small businesses or individual buyers. All the profits from our sales will go to building a health clinic in Bawa. This experience has allowed me to develop my leadership skills and gain a better understanding of the business world.” -Jaime Ramos Jr.

"I am an eleventh grader who attends MBA. Throughout my years here I have become close with my fellow students. Each classroom has a warm feeling where students can express themselves without fear of ridicule. MBA offers great opportunities. I have had the chance to take college classes and also join a program which prepared me for college. If students are looking for a welcoming environment they should consider attending Metropolitan." - Donald W., Grade 11

"As a senior at Metropolitan Business Academy, I have personally experienced some of the more exciting points this school has to offer. The most prominent of which was the chance to attend Yale for the summer as a Shafer Family Scholarship Recipient. I can honestly say that other students should attend due to the amazing learning experiences that Metro offers such as life skills and once in a lifetime opportunities." - Donovan W., Grade 12
