There is an exciting movement underway at New Haven Public Schools. We are raising the bar for educational excellence through our nationally recognized School Change Initiative. Our goal is to give every student access to the brightest teachers, the strongest schools and the best education

possible. I invite you to come be a part of the transformation.

New Haven’s inter- district magnet program gives New Haven students and students who live in surrounding cities and towns a chance to benefit from our School Change Initiative. This is about school choice and we have an array of excellent schools for parents to choice from. From science and technology to the performing arts to business and

communications, New Haven has a school that’s right for your young achiever.

New Haven’s inter-district magnet program is the largest and most successful in the state of Connecticut and has been recognized as a model for the nation. Each school in the magnet program offers a

unique curriculum and programs tailored to the specific needs of the students and families it serves. We can help you find the right fit for your child. Choosing the right school is critical to ensure students have the support they need to excel in the classroom and get on the path to college.

The New Haven School Change Initiative is creating a lot of buzz around the country and for good reason. The district is leading the state and well on its way to achieving its three big goals: closing the achievement gap; reducing the dropout rate and boosting the graduation rate; and ensuring that all students can go to college. You can be part of that change through the inter-district program.
