The New Haven Public Schools is a district of dedicated and excellent teachers, administrators and families committed to the academic achievement and social development of our children. Together, we offer a world-class education in state-of-the-art laboratories of learning. New Haven’s inter-district magnet program is the largest and most successful in the state of Connecticut. In fact, it is recognized on a national level as a model program. The Interdistrict Magnet Program, also known as the School Choice Program, provides the best educational opportunities for New Haven students and students from surrounding cities and towns.
Each of our magnet schools offers a unique curriculum and many specialized programs. Parents can select which school is the best fit for their children, ensuring that each child is placed in a school that is appropriate to his or her needs and interests. Such choice helps guarantee that students are placed in the best academic environment for growth and able to maximize their potential.
This is perhaps the most exciting time ever to explore New Haven Public Schools as we embark on an aggressive plan for school change and exponential student achievement.
