School Overview

Mauro-Sheridan Science, Technology and Communications Interdistrict Magnet School is located in a state-of-the-art facility in the Westville area of New Haven.

Our magnet themes are embedded in a strong math and language arts program which integrates project-based learning throughout the curricula. A video production studio supports a student-produced daily news broadcast, and the applied technology/robotics lab engages students in exploring physics and math. In addition, students have access to a science lab, CLAB(classroom lab), electronic music classroom, and science discovery room which provide opportunities for students that prepare them for success in an ever-changing technologicallyadvancing world.

The school seeks to integrate school, home and community to foster academic excellence and social responsibility. As a Dr. James Comer School, Mauro- Sheridan employs the Comer Pathway Model to direct daily learning.

The home-school connection in conjunction with our full time Family Educator is further supported through the school’s website at http://www.maurosheridan. net where parents and students can access the weekly newsletter and up-to-date information about upcoming activities, student services, and teachers’ individual web pages highlighting classroom information, and homework assignments.

Mauro-Sheridan is a uniform school where students receive a multitude of experiences to foster growth as critical thinkers and responsible citizens who appreciate all cultures and beliefs.
